1/2 c whole milk,
room temperature
1/2 c flour
2 Tbls sugar
1 envelope regular yeast
Put all of the yeast and half of the rest of the ingredients together in a class 4 cup container. Gently stir (do not use a metal spoon) until there are no lumps. Add the remaining ingredients. Loosely cover (starter must breath or it will explode) and set aside on the counter overnight.
